"When I was asked to critique this book originally my first reaction was one of temporary panic.  I am no expert on kids books and how does one critique a work by an in-law which is what I was expecting to do?  My fears were misplaced.  

It is a beautifully  written book, an authentic tale and I actually enjoyed it. In short, the book describes how a dog's peaceful equilibrium with his master is rudely interrupted by the arrival of another person in the household, my sister in law ( the master's girlfriend).  

The story is told typically through the eyes of the dog.  The story navigates through cycles of life but it carries some quaint messages and the author keeps it real..  It is also augmented by some lovely artwork.  If anybody is looking at kids books I'd say definitely don't exclude this one from calculations.  A genuinely good read."
